MSI Prague 1-4 December
We would like to invite you all to the MSI Prague Scrabble Festival.
The inaugural event features the debut of the smart board and racks. Worth over £20,000 it uses RFID technology to help transmit the game live over the internet. The streaming coverage will include expert commentary, interviews and also UK TV Countdown star Rachel Riley.
Entrants include reigning two-time World Champion Nigel Richards, World Number 1 Conrad Bassett-Bouchard, American National Champion Sam Kantimathi, former World Champion Adam Logan, the best female player in the world Helen Gipson and many more top players from across the globe.
The main event will take place on Saturday 1st December through to Monday 3rd December, with a minimum guaranteed prize fund of 10,000 euros. The full festival also includes an Early Bird tourney on Saturday morning, a free tuitional workshop hosted by Karen Richards on Monday evening and a winner-takes-all Elimination Event on Tuesday 4th December.
All tournament offer unprecedented value, with a minimum 90% return on entry fees. Games are WESPA and ABSP rated and played to WESPA V2 rules, with 5 point penalty per word challenge. John Chew is the computer operator. Craig Beevers is organising and directing.
MSI Prague Scrabble is one of many events at the inaugural Mind Sports Festival which is taking part alongside the well established Prague Poker Festival. It is organised by the leading poker event management and consultancy firm Living it Loving it - who organise multi-million dollar poker events all over the world. Other confirmed games at the event are bridge, backgammon, poker and eSports.
The venue is the Corinthia Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic. A 5 star luxury hotel situated 3 minutes walk away from the 10th century castle Vysehrad and 2 metro stops (5 minute journey) from the city centre.
