Collins Scrabble Trainer - Coming Soon!
With every previous update of the official Scrabble word list there has been published a companion Scrabble LISTS book. As many players now use electronic tools rather than hard-copy for learning words it is understandable that Collins have decided not to publish the usual LISTS book to reflect the new updates for Collins Scrabble Words 2015 (CSW15). It simply would not be cost-effective to do so. However, they are going to publish a cut-down version entitled Collins SCRABBLE TRAINER which will have a more user-friendly presentation style that might make it more attractive to the wider market beyond the club and tournament scene but still fulfill the needs of the serious players.
Each list therein will be complete within its criteria but the number of lists will be reduced to bring the extent down to about two-thirds of the previous LISTS book. For example, instead of an anagram section of all seven and eight-letter words as a reference, the focus is on the top probability sevens and eights. And the number of bonus stems has been reduced but they are now presented in a more graphical way. Author Allan Simmons advises that the content of the Scrabble Trainer is now being finalized and checked, and it is on schedule to be published in May.
